******************************************

It is rare that I would endorse a particular adjusting firm due to the variables involved in evaluating an adjusting firm on important issues such as quality of their adminstration personnel, professionalism of staff, promptness of payments to adjusters, quality of claims management personnel, etc. However, I do STRONGLY endorse Mariposa Claims after working closely with them since the inception of ClaimSmentor in 2005 and their continued committment to mentoring and support of the ClaimSmentor program. I endorse them not because they are a ClaimSmentor sponsor but because of the long term relationship we have developed where I have gotten to know first hand the quality and dedication of the owners of this firm and their managers and importantly that I have gotten fantastic feedback from all independents I have staffed for them over the years during many catastrophe events who consistently report back that Mariposa provides an outstanding CMS Claims Management System (hosted by Click Claims at www.clickclaims.com) , a quality management staff, a friendly and available group at their home office who process assignments and adjuster payments, and…need I say more? One thing I will definitely add- if you are not interested in doing quality work or try to be a turn and burn adjuster then this offer is NOT for you!

ClaimSmentor Sponsor Eberls Claims is seeking Billingual Independent Adjusters

April 18, 2012

We have received a request from ClaimSmentor sponsor Eberls Claims Service to let everyone know that they are currently accepting independent adjusters with billingual skills per the following information to share with you:

Eberl Claims Service is currently interviewing bi-lingual, Spanish speaking individuals to be considered for future catastrophe assignments/deployments. You must be able to pass a Spanish Speaking Certification in order to qualify for bi-lingual deployments (see below). Previous property adjusting experience or related experience is preferred; however we do have training programs for individuals that have excellent customer service skills and outstanding computer skills.

To qualify as a bi-lingual adjuster, an oral exam must be completed to assess language level and skill. Eberl offers this exam one time, free of charge to qualified candidates. The test is challenging; superior skills are required to pass. Candidates must be able to speak and understand Spanish fluently. This is a 40 minute oral exam designed to assess your conversational skills and knowledge of the language. Typical questions may ask you to discuss your favorite film/book in depth, describe in detail your neighborhood, home, family and friends, etc.

For more information, please email training@eberls.com and include “Spanish Speaking” in the subject line.

Thanks as always to Eberls Claims for supporting our ClaimSmentor online mentoring program!

State Farm Career Site National Catastrophe Team Adjuster openings-Register ASAP

March 1, 2012

I ran across an OUTSTANDING opportunity today for adjusters to apply to State Farm for their openings for their National Catastrophe Claims Team. I think many adjusters would have missed this posting as it was posted in Illinois which is where the executive management group is for the catastrophe team but the positions are open in multiple states.

According to this job posting, they are hosting conference calls today and tomorrow you must register for to take part in the calls to learn more specifics on these openings.

Having been with State Farm 28 years and having been a National Catastrophe Team manager my last 4 of 28 years with them, I cannot say enough great things about these job opportunities. I was especially pleased to see that claims experience and construction backgrounds may waive their normal requirement for Bachelor degrees. (Great Talent crisis move State Farm!)

The link is below to read these details. I wish I’d have seen this posting on Indeed.com earlier to give you more notice to contact them at the email address in the job posting. Please let them know you heard about this from ClaimSmentor group affiliation as this may lead them to notify us for posting next time earlier!

Update 3 on Worley Catastrophe Adjusting firm Class Action Lawsuit- Altier vs Worley- Class Action Denied by Judge- see court documents

August 24, 2011

We are getting much interest in posts on the Worley class action lawsuit via internet searches leading folks to our blog thus I did a follow up today to see what new court documents could be located.

It is with much interest that I post this updated court document filed July 26, 2011 showing the federal case moved to Deny the Class Action Certification of the plaintiff adjusters. I find it very disturbing that the basis of the denial is that all of those adjusters working did not have signed employment contracts.

I lecture continually in our Fundamentals of Claims course for new adjusters about not going out without a signed contract due to the fact the contract is needed if there are non payment issues or disputes on fee received.

Here again is an entirely different reason for being sure you work under a signed employment contract with the adjusting firm:

If you missed our original blog on the Altier vs Worley case and Update 2, here is a link to the prior blogs:

I do have a call in now to the plaintiff’s attorney for an update on the case as to what happens next. Apparently it is ongoing as I was just told all of the attorney’s on the case are out in depositions this week pertaining to the case but they would have someone call me back later today for an update.
