Claims Education Conference merges

with SCLA Annual Claims Conference!


The Claims Education Conference, presented by International Insurance Institute (III), is thrilled to announce it is merging with The SCLA Annual Claims Conference presented  by American Educational Institute (AEI) and the Society of Claim Law Associates (SCLA)  The new combined conference will be held at the DoubleTree Resort by Hilton, Paradise Valley – Scottsdale, Arizona, November 7-9, 2013.

The training staff at III will be providing claims skills training, while SCLA experts will provide the claims law seminars traditionally presented at the SCLA Conference. All past attendees and supporters of the Claims Education Conference usually held in May are now encouraged to join us in Scottsdale this November.

The new SCLA Claims Conference will include:

  • Claims law seminars presented by leading technical and legal experts
  • Claims skills seminars presented by International Insurance Institute
  • Vendor Exhibition Hall
  • AEI Designation Conferment Ceremony
  • Networking opportunities with other claims professionals

The merger of these two conferences will provide value-added services to all attendees. The educational program at the SCLA Claims Conference will now be a complementary blend of both technical and general claims training. Attendees can sharpen their general claims skills, increase their claims law knowledge, and become better claims professionals.

Announcement from Orlando Claims Association, Inc. 2nd Annual OCA CE Seminar and Cook-Off Event – REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!!
Ladies and Gentlemen, 
Registration for this event is now open! Please visit the OCA website to register for this event. It is one-of-a-kind, and the most fun CE seminar you can attend in the State of Florida. This years’ event will host the new state mandated 5-Hour UPDATE Course for ALL Adjusters and will incorporate topics in both the casualty and property arenas. The CE Seminar will conclude at approximately 2:00pm and open up into a Rib Cook-Off where cook-off teams will be ready and waiting for you! They are fighting for number 1, and you will be a judge! The afternoon will include networking, feasting, socializing, games, prizes and live music from Orlando’s own…JILLS CASHBOX! You don’t want to miss it! Registration fees are minimal for a 5-Hour CE class. Please register early.

January 2012 Windstorm Network Conference- Orlando, FL/ Also put to rest the rumor that attendee majority were public adjusters- see stats

The 2012 Windstorm Network Conference will be held in January 2012 in Orlando, FL from January 30, 2012 through February 2, 2012.

While researching the 2011 conference and attendees due to an upcoming opportunity to speak on behalf of ClaimSmentor to the 2012 network, I came across a most interesting blog entry putting to rest rumors even I had heard that the Windstorm network attendees are public adjusters in the majority of cases.

This article on the actual statistics put out by Attorney Chip Merlin, current Windstorm Network President,  dispells these rumors and shows that attendees are 4 to 1 dominated by independent claims personnel and staff claims personnel. I hope you find this article interesting when considering both sponsorship opportunities as well as attendance participation. All in all, I find it an outstanding networking opportunity for all parties concerned in wind topics which are important for all of us in the Property and Casualty claims industry:
